To get in the spirit of March Madness, Wendy’s has once again collaborated with Adult Swim for a special “Morty’s Mayhem” pop-up event at the Resorts World Las Vegas this weekend.
Previously, Wendy’s had transformed a restaurant into “Morty’s,” complete with special signage all throughout the experience. This time, Adult Swim and Wendy’s will similarly deck out the restaurant with a “special LED Rick and Morty experience,” and give customers the chance to win some branded merchandise.
“Our fans know Wendy’s delivers unique, exciting, custom experiences in everything we do from sports to food to gaming—and Morty’s Mayhem brings this to life in every way,” said Jimmy Bennett, vice president of media and social for The Wendy’s Company, according to ComicBook.com. “The out of this world experience will have fans immersed in never-before-seen animations, dripping in exclusive swag and enjoying the best fast food in the game—all in the madness of the Las Vegas Strip.”

There will also be special menu items, like a “Pickle Rick”-themed Frosty that comes in special branded cups.

You’ll notice that Wendy’s and Adult Swim opted to use “Mayhem” instead of “Madness.” That’s because the NCAA is extremely protective of its “March Madness” trademark.
This year, for the first time, the NCAA is allowing the women’s tournament to use the phrase on promotional products, which was a point of contention last year.
Wendy’s has been really leaning into basketball over the years, too, with commercials featuring NBA legend Reggie Miller, who may or may not be stealing promotional products from set.
Between the excitement of the tournament and the perpetual demand for all things “Rick and Morty” from fans, Wendy’s knows that this will draw numbers. Hopefully, though, it won’t cause a riot, like when McDonald’s brought back a special edition sauce after it was mentioned on the show.
Then it really would be Morty’s Mayhem.
